CAN Infotech 2016: Stock Clearance Expo???
The biggest event in the computer field in Nepal starts from today. So what can we see in this tech expo??

To be honest, this CAN infotech was just a stock clearance expo. You can hardly find any new technologies there. FYI you cannot find mobile purchase and exchange stalls of Samsung this year. I found some people visiting the event just to get the Samsung mobiles at cheap price. There are some other mobile stalls like Colors, Mircromax and the main sponsor Huawei. The irony is that the Huawei sets cost more in the expo than the local market and I don't know why.
To be fair the management of the stalls, ticket counters, entry and exit points, this doesn't meet the standards of the largest tech event in Nepal at all. I reached the expo at sharp 12 today. But the irony thing is that the event was even not inaugurated despite having the inauguration ceremony at sharp 10. So we had to wait upto 1 even to get the tickets. Also there were no records of the visitors at all. A normal ticket costs 100 bucks and a student ticket costs 50 bucks less, but you can easily buy more than one tickets from the a single students ID because there is no one to check whether the ID has been used or not. And the music in each and every stall is so loud that you might wanna take some ear protectors.
Some worst things that I found:
- Unmanaged stalls with construction materials lying randomly over the ground.
- The electric scooter with maximum speed of 20 km/hr. A bicycle would easily overtake it. :P
- Unexperienced counselors at the stall. In one of the Lenovo stalls we asked about the specs of the laptop and CPUs and they knew nothing at all. Similar was the case in the stalls selling computer accessories. They seemed to be there just to sell their products.
- World’s smallest mobile (as they say) by Kiwi, just a Bluetooth headset converted into a keypad cellphone.
- Stalls selling Ayurvedic medicines in tech expo. It looked familiar with the Nepali proverb “Pashupati ko jatra Sidra ko byapar”.
- A VR gadget. I was so excited to see a VR but it turned out to be an empty device.
- And finally Beats by Dr. Dre sucks. Well I was told that they have the original Beats pill speaker and it costs only 1000 bucks. :D
Some good things that I found:
- In one of the stalls the budget headphones were so good. It didn’t felt like a cheap one at all. But remember to visit every stall before you buy anything.
- NEC tablet PC. You better check it yourself.
- Argghhhhh… There is hardly a good thing that I can remember next. :D
Thanks For the Information bro
